Series the character is from: Angelic Layer Point in canon they're being taken from: Post-series, pre-Chobits D8 Brief background and personality: Saito Kaede appears in the second volume as one of the persons who were (literally) in the shadows, and have been watching Misaki’s battles and analyzing them carefully. Soon, Misaki encounters her in the battle arena of Angelic Layer. Throughout the fight, she stays very calm in fairness to her confidence and strategies. She is an experienced deus, and a strong one. In fact, it is said that only a very few number of angels were able to hit her Branchir/Blanche. Because of Kaede and Branchir’s strength, it seemed like the other deuses usually withdraw from their fights. And she was thankful that Misaki did not do the same. Kaede takes Angelic Layer on a healthy level of seriousness and passion, stating that she will fight until the very end with all her power. However, she loses to Misaki but accepts it all the same. Kaede plays fair and square, knowing of Hikaru’s weakness but does not use it against her just because she was not the one who found out about it. In later chapters of the manga, we see her watching (and perhaps supporting) the rest of Misaki’s fights. This actually proves that Kaede is a good sport and enjoys what she’s doing. She is also a wise and polite girl. Albeit quiet, she appears to be good friends with Junouchi Sai. In Chobits, it was mentioned that she is Minoru Kokubunji’s Played by Sachi | |||||||||
